18 holes of moorland golf
— One of Bolton's best-kept secrets —
Laid out in 1909 on high ground above Bromley Cross, Dunscar is a genuine moorland course with a parkland heart — mature and newly planted trees, water, heather and gorse, and long views out to the West Pennine hills. Not a long card at 6,033 yards, but every yard has to be earned.

The moor gives Dunscar its teeth. Four testing short holes, water in play early on at the 3rd — "Watermans" — and a signature 16th played into an old quarry ringed by four bunkers and thick heather. The 17th and 18th bring you home against a backdrop of open countryside.

Added in 2007, the Centenary Lounge looks out across the stunning 1st and 18th holes. It's where members put the world right after a round — and where we host everything from birthdays and anniversaries to weddings and wakes, for up to 150 guests.
